WE NOT THE ONLY ONES

DAVID: I guess that's one way of putting it, yes. Look, I wasn't nearly as interested in this film as you were. It wasn't a journey that gave me a great deal of pleasure. I think the moment that I lost interest in the film was the scene where young George and the girl next door go to the movies and they go and see a fantastically good film called THE BIG HEAT directed by Fritz Lang and they talk all the way through it. .

MARGARET: Oh, David.

DAVID: I mean I'm not interested...

MARGARET: So you're not going to forgive the film for that scene?

DAVID: Well, I'm not interested in characters who talk through a good movie like THE BIG HEAT and I can't understand why you would reference a film like that if you're then going to sort of trash it in that way.
